Frequently Asked Questions

How does the DTC system work?

Thanks to having a comprehensive database of original files and a deep knowledge of Diagnostic Trouble Codes and modifications, we are able to analyse files that have been read using master tools (such as those from Alientech, CMD, Autotuner, Magicmotorsport, bFlash) to produce a complete list of the codes within the file and modifications that are available. The user can then select the codes they would like removed, and/or the modifications they would like to be applied, and a new file is then produced for them to write back into the vehicle.

Are files that include a modification a complete solution?

New calibration files that include modifications will be accompanied with information pertaining to the mechanical changes that are also required to operate the vehicle correctly - such as Adblue/DEF/ACR module unplugs, removal of DPF, or removal of EGR. The only solution that will never require a hardware change is VMAX.

Can I use my slave tool?

No, DTCRemoval is only available for files that have been read using a master tool.

What are the costs?

For files that you download with only DTCs removed: £12 each. For files with a combination of modifications and DTCs: £40 each. For files that include an Adblue/DEF/SCR modification: £80 each. A single file can contain multiple DTCs and/or any combination of modifications.

Does it cost anything to upload a file?

No. Uploading, DTC/modification analysis, and removal is free. You are charged before you download the modified file but after the system has created the new file. This means you will never be charged for a file that cannot be modified correctly.

Do I have to download a modified file if I have uploaded one for analysis?

No, you can upload a file, check through the list of available DTCs, and modifications, and select those you want removing, with no further obligation. We will supply a unique ID number to the file which you can use to retrieve it later.

What is the expected turnaround time?

No, you can upload a file, check through the list of available DTCs, and modifications, and select those you want removing, with no further obligation. We will supply a unique ID number to the file which you can use to retrieve it later.

The file I have uploaded has many codes within it, how can I jump to the ones I need?

You can search directly for specific codes using the search bar. There is no need to trawl through pages and pages of codes.

What happens if I have misplaced the file I purchased a while ago and need it again?

As long as you have filled in the name and registration details on first upload, every file you send us will be retrievable at a later date, as many times as you need it. You can also retrieve a previous file using the unique ID that we provide each time one is created.

What if the code I want to remove, or modification I want to make, isn’t in the list when I upload the file?

It may have already been removed by an alternative method, or it may never have been a part of the vehicle’s calibration. In any event, if it isn’t found from our analysis nothing further is possible.
